Short Term Rental Advocacy Center launched

The concept of short-term rentals — a.k.a. your vacation rental — violates local housing laws in some destinations. It’s sad, but true. Some hosts have been hit with significant fines and backlash from unhappy neighbors. But a newly formed coalition is now here to help.

Yesterday, the Short Term Rental Advocacy Center (STRAC) was launched. It is an online resource for homeowners, property managers, residents, travelers and public policy makers interested in learning more about best-practices in regulation of the short-term rental marketplace.

The STRAC was created by Airbnb, HomeAway, TripAdvisor and FlipKey responding to requests from people like you who asked for help in engaging with policymakers who are considering how smart regulations can responsibly foster the growth of the vacation rental industry.

You can find the STRAC here.
